I think the choice to lean into the horror of the plot without crossing over into gratuitous gore is a bold one, and it works really well. As Noa and Steve, Edgar-Jones and Stan are a great pair. Dating in the Dark by Alexandria Bishop is the first book in the Dating Trilogy. The premise was interesting, and I see some promise here, but I just didn’t really feel that connection between the characters. But I’ll be checking out the next book because there’s a huge cliffhanger ending! There was good characterization, though I had to grit my teeth a bit at Tinley’s behaviors and attitudes. It’s a shame because I really see some promise in this book if it had a few changes.
